E-Bike Review: 2021 Riese & Müller Charger3
We are smitten with the brand new 2021 Riese & Müller Charger3. This bike was already the cream of the crop, but this year's updates turn up the dial to *chef's kiss* phenomenal.
The Charger3 series offers a variety of models to choose from:
- GT. 'Gran Turismo' - comfortable e-bike riding. Perfect on roads or light terrain for day-to-day riding, touring and traveling. Touring. Equipped with a traditional chain and derailleur gearing system.
- Vario. Equipped with the Enviolo continuous hub gear and Gates carbon belt drive.
- Rohloff. Equipped with the electronic E14 14-speed Rohloff Speedhub.
- HS. 'High Speed'. Equipped with the Bosch Performance Speed motor that offers assist up to 28mph. Added safety features such as a handlebar mirror, louder 'horn' and brighter lights.
This particular bike is the GT Vario HS and it boasts the Bosch Speed Motor assisting up to 28mph, Eviolo continuous shifting system, and Gates carbon belt drive. This is the Mixte frame with a lower top tube, an excellent choice for petite riders.
2021 Updates
Dual battery setups - You can now opt for up to 1125Wh of battery capacity. This model offers a rear rack mounted and power tube battery for tons of miles at your disposal.
GX Option - Off-road oriented option with Fat Tire All-Terrain, flat pedals, Ergon grips with bar ends
Front carrier - Secure up to 5kg of cargo with this front carrier that's fixed to the frame.
